How do I place an order?

Placing an order is simple: browse our products, add what you'd like to your cart, and proceed to checkout. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Diners Club, and Discover as payment method.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

We process orders quickly, so changes aren't always possible once an order has been submitted. Please email us at customercare@novascotiaorganics.com as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help before it ships.
I didn't receive an order confirmation email. What should I do?

Can I order by phone?

We just have online order available using our website at novascotiaorganics.ca. If you need help completing your order, please send us an email to help you placing the order as soon as possible.
Do you offer gift cards?

Yes! We have digital gift cards available in several amounts, and you can choose them directly on our website. They're a great option for anyone who values clean, organic wellness products but you’re a little lost about what to gift.
Is it safe to enter my payment information on your website?

Absolutely. Our store runs on Shopify, which uses standard encryption to keep all payment and personal information secure.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes, for orders over $100 CAD you can get free shipping, it is applied automatically at checkout.
How long does shipping take?

We ship via UPS. The standard delivery timelapse typically takes 5 to 7 business days after your order is processed. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.
How do I track my order?

Once your order ships, you'll receive a UPS tracking number by email. You can use that number at the courier’s website to follow your package 24/7 in real time. If you didn't receive a tracking notification, please check your spam folder or contact us at customercare@novascotiaorganics.com.
Do you ship outside of Canada?

At this time, we ship within Canada. For international inquiries, please reach out to us at customercare@novascotiaorganics.com.
My order says delivered but I haven't received it. What do I do?

Please track your order through UPS official website, if definitely you can’t find your package or any helpful information, please contact us at customercare@novascotiaorganics.com to investigate in deep what happened, do not forget to include your name, email address and order number.
My order arrived damaged. What should I do?

Email us immediately at customercare@novascotiaorganics.com with a photo of the damaged item and your order number. We'll take care of it and figure it out what is the best way to solve this situation.
Can I change my shipping address after placing an order?

If your order hasn't shipped yet, we may be able to update the address. Please contact us at customercare@novascotiaorganics.com as quickly as possible.
Do you ship to P.O. boxes?

Unfortunately, UPS does not deliver to P.O. boxes. Please use a street address at checkout to ensure successful delivery.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

We offer a full 100% refund on all unopened items returned within 30 days of purchase (shipping costs are under customer’s responsibility). However, please take into account that we're unable to accept returns on opened products.
My order was wrong. What should I do?

Email us immediately at customercare@novascotiaorganics.com with your order number and a photo of the issue. We'll solve the issue!
How long does it take to receive my refund?

Once your return is received and approved, refunds are processed within 5–10 business days. You'll receive a confirmation email when it's been issued.
I opened the product but I'm unhappy with it. Can I still get a refund?

We're very sorry our product didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we're unable to accept returns on opened products. That said, your feedback really matters to us, please let us know what happened at customercare@novascotiaorganics.com so we can keep improving.

Our Products & Quality

Are your products really organic? What does that mean?

Yes, Nova Scotia Organics products carry USDA Certified Organic status, the highest level of organic certification available. This means 95–100% of the ingredients are certified organically grown, harvested, and processed, and are regularly inspected by an independent third party.
Do your products contain GMOs?

No. Every product we offer is completely non-GMO. Our whole-food organic supplements are free from genetically modified ingredients, synthetic chemicals, and fillers.
Are your products gluten-free?

Yes, our products are gluten-free, as well as peanut-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and free from magnesium stearate.
Are your products vegan?

Most of our products are vegan. The exception is products containing calcium, which we source from organic chicken eggshell, which is a bioavailable, environmentally-friendly natural source. Each product description specifies whether it's vegan so you can check before purchasing.
What does “synthetics free” mean?

It means the product contains no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or fillers. What's in the bag or bottle is exactly what the label says, without hidden ingredient that could cause discomfort to your stomach or have negative consequences for your health in the future.
Are your products safe during pregnancy?

Most of our products are made with USDA Certified Organic, GMO-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free ingredients, so contraindications are minimal to null. Any product carrying a specific caution for pregnancy is clearly labeled. We always encourage you to speak with your obstetrician or healthcare provider before starting any supplement during pregnancy.
What is freeze-drying and why do you use it?

Freeze-drying or lyophilization is the gold standard for preserving the nutritional content of plants and fruits. Unlike other kind of drying, it retains nearly all vitamins, fiber, and natural phytonutrients while extending shelf life without preservatives. We keep our own freeze-drying equipment at our Nova Scotia plant; be sure that we are committed with following the best quality processes.
What's the difference between the capsules and the tinctures?

Capsules are convenient for daily use, just swallowed with water like a regular supplement. Tinctures are liquid herbal extracts absorbed more quickly and preferred by people who want to avoid swallowing pills. Both formats deliver the same organic herbal ingredients; it is just a matter of personal preference.
How do I know which product is right for me?

Our website is organized by products; in each product page we include detailed information about benefits and ingredients. As always, we recommend speaking with your doctor or healthcare provider to determine what's right for your specific needs or you can reach out to us and we’ll be more than glad to support your research.
How should I store my supplements?

All our products should be stored between 15–25°C in a cool, dark, dry place. Do not refrigerate unless specifically noted on the label. Keep out of reach of children and do not use if the safety seal is damaged or missing.
What happens if I take more than the recommended dose?

Our products are made from whole-food organic ingredients and are generally well tolerated. However, if you have any concern after taking more than the recommended dosage, we recommend contacting a healthcare professional or calling Poison Control right away.

What certifications do your products hold?

Our products are USDA Certified Organic, Canada Organic certified, and certified by Ecocert Canada (one of the most rigorous independent organic certification bodies in the world).

Protein Powder

What protein powders flavours do you offer?

We currently carry five flavors: Plain, Chocolate, Vanilla, Berry, and Matcha.
What is the protein powder made of?

Our protein powders are made from a blend of organic Brown Rice Protein, Pea Protein, Hemp Protein, and Chia Seed. That's it! no flow agents, thickeners, or synthetic ingredients.
How much protein is in one serving?

Each serving (36g) provides from 21g to 28g of protein depending on the flavour you choose. Our Chocolate and Berry proteins provide 21g of protein per serving, the matcha and vanilla carry 23g of protein per serving and our plain protein provides 28g of protein per serving.
How much protein should I consume per day?

General guidelines suggest approximately 0.8g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day for the average adult, and up to 1.2–2.0g/kg for active individuals or those focused on muscle building. That said, everyone's needs are different, we always recommend speaking with a registered dietitian or healthcare provider to find what's right for you.
When is the best time to take the protein powder?

It works well any time of day: as part of breakfast, a mid-afternoon boost, or after a workout to support muscle recovery. Our protein powder is designed to fit into your routine however it works best for you.
How do I use the protein powder?

Add 1 ½ scoops (36g) to 200ml of cold water or your choice of milk. Vary the liquid amount to reach your desired consistency. It also works great in smoothies, sprinkled on yogurt, bowls, or added to baking like protein pancakes…your imagination is the limit!
Is the protein powder suitable for vegans?

Yes! all five flavors are vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and non-GMO.
Does the protein powder contain artificial sweeteners?

No, there are no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors in any of our protein powders. Sweetness in the flavored varieties comes from organic and natural ingredients.
Can I use the protein powder for weight management?

Yes, protein supports satiety and helps preserve lean muscle mass, both of which contribute to healthy weight management. Combined with a balanced diet and regular physical activity, our protein powder can be a useful part of a weight management routine.
What's the difference between the Plain protein and the flavored versions?

The Plain protein has no added flavor, making it versatile for baking, smoothies, or any recipe where you don't want a specific taste. The flavored versions (Chocolate, Vanilla, Berry, Matcha) are great on their own with water or milk. All five share the same base formula: Brown Rice, Pea, Hemp, and Chia protein.

Nova Greens is one of our best-selling products across the country. It's a USDA Certified Organic, ready-to-mix greens powder containing 34 fruits, vegetables, and herbs, designed to support healthy digestion and immune function.

What is Vitamin D3 and why do I need it?

Vitamin D3 is called the "sunshine vitamin". It is essential for maintaining healthy calcium levels in the blood, which supports strong bones and teeth. In Canada, especially during winter months, most people don't get enough sunlight to produce adequate Vitamin D3 on their own, making supplementation particularly important.
What are the benefits of your Vitamin D3?

Our Vitamin D3 helps maintain healthy bones and teeth, supports immune system function, promotes muscle strength, and contributes to heart health by helping regulate blood pressure and reducing inflammation. It also supports mood, including reducing symptoms of seasonal affective disorder and helps the body metabolize key neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and acetylcholine.
What is the Vitamin D3 made from?

The Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) is derived from sheep's wool lanolin. The non-medicinal ingredients are all organic: organic acacia gum, organic sweet potato, organic Jerusalem artichoke, and organic carnauba wax.
Is the Vitamin D3 vegan?

The Vitamin D3 itself is derived from sheep's wool lanolin, which is an animal byproduct. It is not vegan, though it is vegetarian. Each tablet is free of gluten, GMOs, and synthetic additives.
How much Vitamin D3 is in each tablet?

Each tablet provides 1000 IU of Vitamin D3.
What makes your Vitamin C different from drugstore Vitamin C?

Our Vitamin C is derived from organic acerola berries rather than the synthetic ascorbic acid found in most conventional supplements, which is typically made from GMO corn syrup. Acerola-based Vitamin C is more bioavailable, meaning your body absorbs and uses it more effectively and it also contains natural bioflavonoids that reduce the stomach upset sometimes caused by synthetic versions.
What are the benefits of Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is essential for healthy cartilage, muscle tissue, blood vessels, and collagen formation in bones. It helps ward off colds, supports the metabolism of fats, proteins, and hormones, and acts as a powerful antioxidant to fight free radical damage and oxidative stress.

Is the Children's Chewable Vitamin C safe and organic?

Yes, it's USDA Certified Organic and made with the same clean, whole-food standards as all our adult products: no synthetic additives, no GMOs, no fillers.
Can children take the adult Vitamin C if you're out of the children's version?

We don’t recommend substituting adult formulas for children without guidance from a pediatrician, as dosages are formulated differently. Stick to the children's line when possible and consult your child's doctor if needed.

What is Bladderwrack and what is it used for?

Bladderwrack is a mineral rich seaweed naturally high in iodine, sustainably harvested from the Atlantic. It's used to support thyroid health and metabolism, given iodine's essential role in thyroid hormone production. It's also rich in fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and vitamins A and C, and offers antioxidant support.
What does the Bladderwrack Capsule contain?

Each capsule provides 160mcg of iodine from certified organic bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus). The capsules are Plantcaps vegetarian capsules. The product contains 82% organic ingredients and is vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO.
Is there a shellfish allergen warning on the Bladderwrack?

Yes, the product may contain traces of shellfish, as it is a seaweed product processed in a facility that may handle marine ingredients. If you have a shellfish allergy, please consult your healthcare provider before using.
What is Irish Moss and how is it used?

Irish Moss (sea moss) is an Atlantic seaweed rich in minerals, trace elements, and natural fiber. It has a long history of use as a nutrient dense food and is particularly known for supporting gut health, thyroid function, and skin health. We offer it in whole dried form, it can be soaked and blended into smoothies, teas, or used to make a gel for cooking and baking.
What is the Milk Thistle Dandelion Tincture used for?

This tincture is designed for daily liver and digestive support. Does the Milk Thistle Dandelion Tincture contain alcohol?

Yes, the non-medicinal ingredients are water and organic ethanol. The ethanol is used as a natural preservative and extraction medium standard in herbal tinctures.
Are the tinctures safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

Please consult a healthcare practitioner before using the tinctures if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use if you have liver or gallbladder disorders or bowel obstruction. Discontinue use if any allergic reaction occurs.
